Simple Minds - Sparkle In The Rain demos

Simple Minds - Sparkle In The Rain Demos

This one is by request and not a moment too soon: Simple Minds' Sparkle In The Rain demos. No vocals on this, only instrumental stuff and very Kraftwerky and dancey, not what you might expect. Major synthesizer action, here. Brilliant stuff. Hopefully I won't go to jail for posting this.

Thanks for posting this gem.

I had commented before about SITR and added those links to the early SM
stuff.

Here is LITCOL
http://awangarda.blogspot.com/2008/03/simple-minds-live-in-city-of-light.html

There is a blog, don't know what one, that has live bootlegs from the early '80s, some of the recordings are not so good. Do a search and you may find them.

If only they would revert back to the synth days of yore, that would make me happy.
Since every other band sounds like they copied and pasted the '80s sound.

thanks,

Thanks! I can't wait to hear "LITCOL"!

Although I can't say I've followed Simple Minds terribly closely since the 80's, it has been my impression that the band knows very well that their glory days are behind them and I think they have been trying to return to what they lost. Their last album from 2005 was totally promoted as this "return to form" etc. as if it was going to be like the early albums. But alas, I tried some of it and it didn't do much for me.

I agree wholeheartedly.
I to sampled that album and was turned off, but thanks to so many music blogs i discovered so many synth/new wave bands i never even heard of, so that filled the hole that SM moved away from.

I thank you once again for posting what you have.
